Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) is a student run foundation here at SIU for students to immerse themselves into their career path. This club opens opportunities for students to outreach, connect, practice, and learn about where they will go with their professions in life. This year in PRSSA there are six e-board members, today you will get the pleasure of learning about our President Kendra Gregory!
Kendra originally attended John A. Logan college and was pursuing a business major. After realizing she had no connection to a business career, she started taking some communication classes. With this shift in interest, it ended up being just right for her. Kendra became President of the PRSSA club because she had been inspired by the President last year, Ashlyn Ege. She also stated, “I attended the 2022 Plank Center DEI Summit with the past executive board, I was part of the Kindness Project, I got to listen to guest speakers and workshops provided by PRSSA, and I met a lot of great people because of this RSO.” This multitude of experiences then pushed her to become President and guide her members into more improvement and gained skills.
This year Kendra has created a new project for her members to dive into, The Decades Project. She brought this new idea in to help her members build better connections through SIU’s alumni! She has incorporated newer social platforms for the members to build skill with.
Over the summer of 2023, Kendra worked for an internship, NubAbility Athletics Foundation, and quickly grew to love non-profit type of work. Kendra loves to go thrift shopping and has taken an interest in collecting an abundant number of vintage cameras. She likes crocheting while watching, Gilmore Girls. Knowing Kendra on a more personal level, she has always been a fun spark of energy; and she is always bringing new ideas and positivity to the table!
