Byassee offers insight into PR work for nonprofits

On November 18, Jessica Byassee joined the weekly PRSSA meeting as a guest speaker. Byassee is the Grant Program Manager for The Living arts and Science Center in Lexington, KY.

Speaking about her early career, Byassee told how straight out of college she sold coupon books door to door before landing a position at the National Quilt Museum in Paducah, KY. Eventually, her career would take her to Tanzania with the Peace Corps, back to Kentucky to work with the United Way, Central Kentucky Riding for Hope, and CASA of Lexington.

She spoke glowingly of her time in the Peace Corps and how it set her on her path of wanting to help others through her communication skills in the nonprofit sector. Her entire talk is embedded her for viewing, and she can be reached on LinkedIn.
